Have you heard the story of Kaldi?
Kaldi was an Ethiopian goatherd who may have discovered coffee in 850 AD, according to legend anyway. He noticed that when his goats ate certain red berries, they would start acting more energetic and were jumping around more. He took the beans to a monastery, but the monk he visited didn’t like the berries so he threw them into the fire. The berries let off an aroma so enticing that they dug them out of the fire, put them into some hot water, and the first cup of coffee was made.
I would like to thank him. Coffee is my life, especially on days like today! My daughter, Emma, is teething and is getting about five teeth all at once!!! I feel terrible for her and wish I could help her. She only wants to be held, but I can’t do that all day, of course.
So, coffee. That and God will help me get through today and the next week or so!
What are you thankful for today? Let me know in the comments below!
